Andrew Jin, M.D., is an ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon at The Retina Group of Washington. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University in New York, with a concentration in biomedical imaging and digital signal processing. He went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine, where he was awarded the Medical Guild Merit Award for academic excellence.

Dr. Jin completed his internship at the UCF College of Medicine, where he was recognized as Intern of the Year. He then pursued his ophthalmology residency at the Yale School of Medicine, earning the Academic Excellence Award in both 2022 and 2023. Following residency, he completed a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, where he received the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2025.

He has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, including the American Journal of Ophthalmology, Journal of the American Heart Association, and Oman Journal of Ophthalmology. His research spans topics ranging from artificial intelligence in ophthalmology to systemic disease detection using retinal imaging. He has also contributed book chapters on ophthalmology and perioperative care, and has presented his work at national meetings such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society.

Board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Jin is an active member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. He also serves on the AAO Basic and Clinical Science Course Committee, contributing to the advancement of medical education in the field.

Licensed to practice in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., Dr. Jin is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and looks forward to serving the DMV community. Outside of medicine, he enjoys traveling to ancient ruins, reading historical fiction, and camping in the winter snow.
