Dr. Alanna James is a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist who brings a passion for comprehensive glaucoma care to Mitchell and Morin. Raised in South Texas, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Andrews University in Michigan before completing her medical degree, internship in Internal Medicine, and Ophthalmology residency at Loma Linda University School of Medicine. Her growing interest in glaucoma during residency led her to pursue advanced fellowship training in glaucoma at the University of Southern California Roski Eye Institute.

Dr. James specializes in both traditional and cutting-edge surgical techniques for glaucoma management, with particular interest in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) and tube shunt procedures. She also has extensive experience managing complex cataracts, often in combination with glaucoma care.

With a deep commitment to improving access to quality eye care, Dr. James is especially focused on serving communities disproportionately affected by glaucoma. She is excited to bring her skills and compassionate approach to the patients of Mitchell and Morin.

Outside the clinic, Dr. James enjoys playing any sport with a racket, trying new recipes, and attending live concerts.
