Dr. Liva received his Medical Degree from the Universidad Autonoma De Guadalajara Medical School and completed a Residency in Ophthalmology at UMDNJ Hackensack Medical Center followed by a Fellowship at UMDNJ. At Hackensack Eye Surgery Center, Dr. Liva sees patients of all ages in need of routine eye exams for eyeglasses and contact lenses as well as eye care for diagnosis and treatment of cataracts, cataract surgery & lens implants, glaucoma, retina diseases and problems such as retinal detachment, age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic retinopathy
Dr. Liva is certified by and a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO), a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), a member of the Bergen County Medical Society, New Jersey Medical Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
