Dr. Jennifer M. Krawitz, a native of Delaware, graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of Delaware Honors Program. She was awarded the Dr. Wilbur Posteles’ Scholarship at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA, where she received her Medical Doctorate (M.D.) with cum laude honors. While at Jefferson, she received the Lavine Research Award and the National Institute of Health‘s Heart, Lung, and Blood Research Award.

Dr. Krawitz completed her ophthalmology resident training at Temple University, where she served as chief resident during her senior year.  She then completed a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at the Wills Eye Institute, one of the premier eye hospitals in the country. She remained on staff at the hospital before completing a second fellowship in medical retina at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City.

Dr. Krawitz has participated in national meetings and published extensively on topics such as orbital fractures, ethambutol toxicity, biosimilars, and biologics.  She also has contributed to writing the neuro-ophthalmology chapter in the Wills Eye Manual. She currently is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and she is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Krawitz joined NJRetina in 2018 and is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in the Department of Ophthalmology. Dr. Krawitz is married with two children and enjoys spending time with her family, as well as exercising, attending sporting events, and cooking.
