Lucy Xu, M.D. is an ophthalmologist, retina specialist & vitreoretinal surgeon at Retina Group of Washington. Dr. Xu received her medical degree from Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University, and completed a residency in ophthalmology at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation Cole Eye Institute, followed by a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Emory University.

Dr. Xu has received numerous honors and awards, including Cole Eye Institute Resident’s Day Research Award, the Ethics Dialogue Award from Inamori International Center for Ethics & Excellence at Case Western Reserve University and the American Academy of Neurology Summer Student Research Award. She has presented at national meetings including the Association for Research and Vision in Ophthalmology (ARVO), the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the American Society of Retinal Specialists (ASRS). Dr. Xu has authored several book chapters and original papers in various peer-reviewed journals including the OSLI Retina, European Journal of Ophthalmology and Ophthalmology Retina.

Dr. Xu is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO) and a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS), Association for Research and Vision in Ophthalmology (ARVO), and the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).
