Osama Sabbagh, M.D. is an ophthalmologist, retina specialist & vitreoretinal surgeon at Retina Group of Washington. Dr. Sabbagh received his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine, and completed a residency in ophthalmology at The George Washington University as Co-Chief Resident, followed by a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the University of Kentucky/Retina Associates of Kentucky.

Dr. Sabbagh has received numerous honors and awards, including the Mervin Zimmerman Award for Excellence and the Annual Washington Retina Symposium Resident Presentation of the Year Award. He has presented at national meetings including the Association for Research and Vision in Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retinal Specialists. Dr. Sabbagh has authored numerous book chapters and original papers, in various peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Vitreoretinal Diseases, Retina Specialist and Ocular Immunology & Inflammation.

Dr. Sabbagh is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO) and a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS), Association for Research and Vision in Ophthalmology (ARVO), and the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). Dr. Sabbagh enjoys cycling, skiing, basketball and soccer when not caring for patients.
